The Last Battle of the bay.
This past Wednesday, I got to attend part of what will be the final Battle of the Bay Series. The Battle of the Bay is a series of Baseball games against the San Francisco Giants and the Oakland A’s. This will be the last of the series, because the Oakland A’s are moving to Las Vegas.
Wednesday night, I went to the game with a bunch of co-workers, because this was a work event that I coordinated for our office. It was a great time; got to hangout with a bunch of my coworkers outside of the office and kinda let loose a little. First, I met up with a few of them at Spark Social, grabbed a beer and a quick snack before meeting everyone else up at the stadium. We all sat at the bleachers, which are my personal favorite section to sit at, because its always such a fun party vibe there, and it feels like you’re hanging with the real authentic fans. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t get a little drunk and took advantage of our parent corporate company taking care of all food and alcohol.
The San Francisco Giants won that night 1-0. Currently the series is tied 1-1 with both Oakland and San Francisco having a win each. The second half of the final series will be held in Oakland, and I will be attending one of those two last ones. Obviously, I want the Giants to win the series, but I personally think it would be kinda cool if Oakland won the series for their last time being in Oakland.
After the game, a few of my coworkers and myself went to another bar in the city. Again, we got hooked up with free beers, I don’t know how we ended up so lucky. We knocked back a couple shots, then we decided to hit up another spot. One of our coworkers from Florida flew in to work at the office for the week and she really wanted to experience a self driving car, so we took a Waymo to the next spot. For those of you that know, I HATE these self driving services for many reasons. One of them being me getting trapped inside of one for like ten minutes. We’ll save the stories for another time. This Waymo got us to our destination just fine, except a really sketchy left turn it made. So we hung out for a while, had another round of beers and had some light night pizza and wings. I was not expecting to be hanging out so late, let alone hang out with my coworkers like this. The next morning, it was pretty entertaining to see a few of us mildly hungover. But, nonetheless it was a good time. Highlight of the night was getting a Dirty Dog, but sadly spilled the onions and condiments on my sneaker.
‘Til the next one, enjoy these random photos from the night.
