this is 36: birthday recap.
Not only was last Sunday the Super Bowl, it was my Birthday. My 36th Birthday to be exact. I definitely do feel way younger at heart, but physically I feel so much older. I have all the ailments of a middle aged adult, from knee pains, back pains, hip pains, heart burn, getting dizzy from getting up too fast, enjoying being in bed by 9PM on the weekdays, and being out til Midnight at the latest is a now considered a wild night. Is 36 considered middle aged? Please let me know, because I am no longer in my mid-30’s and now entering the late-30’s.
Alright, enough ranting and b*tching about my age; this isn’t what we are here for. I’m writing this as a recap for the activities that took place on my Birthday weekend. Huge shout out to my girlfriend for always coordinating and planning something for my birthday. She has taken care of it ever since we got together. Thank you so much for handling all that stuff for me! I always say I don’t wanna do anything for my Birthday, but that is just because I am lazy and hate coordinating to try and wrangle up all my friends and plan something that is convenient for everyone. In actuality, I always do want to do something on my Birthday just to get all of my favorite people together and spend some time together.

Every year for as long as I could remember, it ALWAYS rains on my birthday. But, this year we got lucky to have a Sunny day after having a week long rain. So, we planned to play Pickleball and have a picnic on Saturday afternoon. The whole crew showed up, my beloved Dinkleberries (very proud of our small collective). We played for a couple of hours, ate some pizza and drank at the courts. After Pickleballing, we had dinner at this KBBQ spot. I decided to make the theme for the night to be 90’s / 2000’s. Anytime there is a theme to anything, you know I gotta show out. Thanks to Dr. Kimi and Dr. Sully, they let us pregame at their office before dinner, because the office was super close to the KBBQ spot. After we all had dinner and drinks, we did one of my other favorite activities, karaoke. We got a private karaoke room, drank and sang the rest of the night away. The night ended right at Midnight, which is still a relatively respectable hour! The next morning, I was a little hungover, but nothing too crazy like previous years where I have either blacked out or hand an unbearable hangover in the morning. I went back home to South City. My family and I were originally supposed to go out to dinner in the City, but I told them I was too tired and hungover to drive anywhere, so we just had Chinese food delivered to the house.
Long story short, I would say this year was a lot more mellow and chill than other years. Enjoy these pictures from that Saturday. This time it is a little different, because these photos were taken as a collective from other people that shot with my camera that day. So, these shots are not all done by me. Also, these pictures were just to capture the moment, nothing too fancy and artistic in thought. ‘Til the next one, enjoy.
